CHALLENGES IN PORT BUSINESS IN THE MIDDLE OF REGULATION CHANGES

Since the existence of the Indonesian Port Reform in 2008, port development has not shown the hope yet, due to changes in regulations and even the existence of regional regulations that are not in line with central regulations.

Seeing this condition, the Government through the Ministry of Transportation has issued policies for the port sector which aims to increase the role and function of productive port management, starting from the concession, handing over port management to the private sector and evaluating licensing. 

This forum will discuss more to the implementation of these policies, whether they are effective and are opportunities and synergize, or create new problems in their implementation.

SEAPORT INVESTMENT OPPORTUNITIES BETWEEN GOVERNMENT, PRIVATE AND INTERNATIONAL

This Forum Session introduces investment opportunities or international cooperation in Indonesian ports. Since a few years ago the Government inviting national private investors and state-owned enterprises, also inviting international parties in the management of ports in order to increase the national standard for port operation that will contribute for economic growth, as well as a business collaboration to develop and improve existing facilities in the port by using the scheme of utilization of state property (assets) and operational cooperation within a certain period.
